Work Wound Institute Launches Initial Research Effort on Chronic Stress and Work Wounds

February 11, 2025 – The Work Wound Institute™ (WWInstitute) is pleased to announce the launch of its initial research effort aimed at understanding the impact of work wounds and chronic, unrelenting stress on individuals in the workplace and its physical manifestations. As part of this research, the WWInstitute is calling for the submission of personal stories from those who have experienced work wounds related to stress.

The WWInstitute has identified four core areas of work-related harm - burnout, betrayal, bullying, and bad behavior - and is particularly interested in exploring the intersection between stress and its physical impacts on individuals. By collecting narrative stories from people who have experienced these work wounds, the Institute seeks to gain qualitative insights into the toll that workplace stress can take on mental and physical health.

Submit Your Story: Anyone who has experienced a work wound is invited to anonymously submit their story. This is an opportunity to contribute to valuable research that aims to better understand the causes and consequences of stress-related work wounds and provide actionable data to foster healthier, more supportive workplaces. Submissions can focus on any of the following four core work wounds:

  • Burnout

  • Betrayal

  • Bullying

  • Bad Behavior

These stories will play a key role in WWInstitute’s qualitative analysis, helping to inform future research and public health initiatives. By participating, individuals will contribute to a broader understanding of the deep, often unseen, consequences of work wounds
